Over the past 50 years, we've grown into a trusted partner, blending innovation, expertise, and dedication to ensure operational excellence across global supply chains.

Meet our Visionary Founder,
Alex McClement
Alex McClement was born on October 27, 1932, in Glasgow, Scotland. An avid hockey player, Alex immigrated to the United States with his family in 1951, pursuing a dream to play in the NHL. Along his journey, he competed for various minor league hockey teams across the country. Parallel to his hockey career, Alex began working for McCormick & Company, eventually relocating to California in 1969 as Vice President of Sales for Gilroy Foods, a subsidiary of McCormick.

During his tenure at Gilroy Foods, Alex developed a strong relationship with Lynal Root, McDonald’s head of Purchasing, while supplying dehydrated onions to the fast-food giant. When Alex began considering leaving McCormick, Lynal approached him with an opportunity to collaborate with McDonald’s on special projects.
In 1975, Alex relocated his family back to the Chicago suburbs and founded McClement Sales Company. Starting in the basement of his home in Dundee, Illinois, Alex built a business that exemplified his commitment to excellence and innovation.
For 26 years, Alex worked closely with McDonald’s, contributing to numerous special projects and fostering success within the company’s unique "Three-Legged Stool" philosophy. In 2001, to reflect the company’s evolving focus, McClement Sales Company rebranded as McClement Management Group, moving away from the image of a traditional sales organization.
Under Alex’s nearly 50 years of leadership, McClement Management Group grew to 25 employees and managed over a billion dollars in spend on behalf of McDonald’s. Up until his passing on March 28, 2024, Alex remained actively involved, mentoring countless individuals within the food industry and serving as a trusted ambassador of the McDonald’s Corporation.
Alex McClement’s legacy is one of vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment to building strong relationships and fostering success within the McDonald’s system and beyond. His company became known for its values of integrity, honesty, and direct communication, principles that continue to guide McClement Management Group to this day.
